Charity and Fraternity
House of Peace (Casa da Paz), located in Lewisville, Texas, is a Spiritist center dedicated to welcoming others, prayer, and the study of Jesus’ teachings in light of Spiritist Doctrine. Through mediumistic work conducted with responsibility, discipline, and respect for the teachings of Christ, it seeks to offer an environment of peace, reflection, and spiritual support, where spirituality can inspire the strengthening of faith, hope, and the practice of doing good.
As Chico Xavier taught: “I believe that the importance of the Gospel of Jesus in our spiritual evolution is akin to the importance of the Sun in sustaining our physical life.”
Inspired by the values the Gospel of Christ, House of Peace encourages the study and practice of Jesus’ teachings, recognizing the Gospel as a sure guide for moral transformation, the strengthening of faith, and the building of a life grounded in love, charity, and fraternity.
What is Spiritism?
Spiritism is a 19th-century religious and philosophical doctrine founded by Allan Kardec.
It focuses on the communication with spirits, reincarnation, and the spiritual evolution of human beings. Spiritism considers itself a Christian teaching and has a deep respect for Jesus.
However, unlike traditional Christianity, Spiritism does not view Jesus as God incarnate. Instead, Jesus is understood as a highly evolved spirit and an “older brother” who serves as the perfect moral example for humanity.
Spiritists also believe that Jesus acts as a spiritual guide and governor of our planet, showing humanity the path toward spiritual growth and the fulfillment of God’s laws.

The Spirits have always said: “Form counts for nothing; thought is everything. Let each person pray, then, according to their convictions and in the way that moves them most. A good thought is worth more than a multitude of words in which the heart has no part.”

27. Prayer. — Almighty God, who seest our miseries, deign to listen benevolently to the supplication I address to Thee at this moment. If my request is unreasonable, forgive me; if it is just and fitting in Thy sight, may the good Spirits—executors of Thy will—come to my aid so that it may be granted.
(State your request.)
Be that as it may, my God, Thy will be done. If my desires are not granted, it is because it is in Thy designs to put me to the test, and I submit without complaint. Grant that no discouragement may assail me because of this, and that neither my faith nor my resignation may be shaken.
